Is Heaven Real - Is it an Actual Place?
Is Heaven Real? Yes. “In the beginning God created the heavens and
earth” ( Genesis
1:1). By a word of His power He called . . . and the systems of
sun and stars and planets and oceans came into being. God spoke and
the ocean beds were scooped out, the mountains formed, and the stars
flung into orbit. The majestic power of God moved mightily upon the
world for it was void until He spoke it into existence. What an
awesome sight -- sitting in the moonlight on a clear night and
looking up towards heaven seeing His amazing creation.
Is Heaven Real? Has anyone seen Heaven?
Is Heaven Real? Yes, John, a disciple of Christ, wrote what he has
seen: “Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven
and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any
sea. It shone with the glory of God, and its brilliance was like
that of a very precious jewel, like a jasper, clear as a crystal. It
had a great, high wall with twelve gates, and with twelve angels at
the gates. The wall was made of jasper, and the city of pure gold,
as pure as glass (Revelation
21:1, 11-12).
Heaven will not need the sun or moon to shine on it, for God’s glory
will give a brilliant light. There will be no tears or pain in
heaven. Our bodies will be transformed, no longer suffering but
moving mightily as God directs. For in heaven we will be singing
praises to God. The angels will be rejoicing as the saints gather
together bowing before God. Any crowns or gifts we receive, we will
lay at the foot of Jesus. For Christ is worthy to receive honor and
glory forever.
Is Heaven Real? Where is it?
Is Heaven Real? Yes, Once when asked by the Pharisees when the
kingdom of God would come, Jesus replied, “The Kingdom of God does
not come with your careful observation, nor will people say, ‘Here
it is,’ or There it is,’ because the kingdom of God is within you” (Luke
17:20-21). “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth,
where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal.
But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust
do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For
where your treasure is, there your heart will be also” (Matthew
6:19-21). Where is your treasure? Have you personally accepted
Jesus’ free gift of eternal life in heaven? Do you believe you are a
sinner (Romans
3:23), that Jesus died for your sins (John
3:16), that He was buried, He rose again
1 Corinthians 15:3-4 – just for YOU? He wants you to spend
eternity with Him in heaven. Do you believe this in your heart and
accept it by faith? If so, pray a prayer similar to this: “Father,
it is my heart’s desire to go to heaven, a place You have prepared
for those who make Jesus Christ Lord and Savior. I accept You as my
Savior now. I believe that You died for my sin, was buried, and rose
again for me. Please forgive my sins and help me to live a life that
would bring You glory. Guide me as I read Your Word, the Bible, so I
may better understand more about You. Cleanse my heart and make it
pure as I trust and obey You. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.”
