Joyce Meyer endured many challenges growing up. She is writing this book to encourage others who have struggled with emotional wounds. She would like for these truths documented in this book “Healing the Soul of a Woman” to build the heart and soul of each lady who picks up this book.
Chapter 1
Women are God’s idea. Although He created Adam first, He quickly realized that he needed a helper, so He took a rib from Adam’s side and created Eve out of it. She was not taken from the bottom of his feet, indicating that he had permission to walk all over her. Adam and Eve had freedom and fellowship with God while living in the Garden of Eden. They had been endowed with authority to have dominion over the animals and the entire realm they dwelt in.
Adam and Eve disobeyed God. Their wrong action openened teh door for all the pain and dysfunction that exists on our planet today. God created man with free will because he wanted to have people to fellowship with who would choose Him, not merely those who had no choice.
We can be filled with the life of God. That life is so powerful that no matter what has happened to us in the past that has damaged our souls, we can be healed adn totally restored. I can assure you that God is never without a plan. And no matter what has happened to you, God has a plan for you, and it is a good plan.
Please notice that the “Offspring” of Eve is captialized in this verse (Genesis 3:14-15), but the offspring of the serpent is not. That is because the offspring of Eve is Jesus Christ. She is the mother of all living beings and is directly in the ancestral line of Jesus. Satan would for a time, bruise the heel of God’s children, referring to how he attacks us in our daily walk. Jesus died in our place took our pain and sorrow, suffered beyond anything we can imagine, and paid for our sins. God will set you on high places and give you peace that passes all understanding and joy that you cannot describe.
God will meet you where you are and help you get to where you need to be.

Many books have been written about the danger of a bad attitude and the power of a good one. Bad thoughs can delay your breakthrough, healing, and deliverance. Your attitude can be they key to unlock many avenues of wholeness. Ask God to “Create in you a clean heart and renew the right spirit” within you!
The thought of humbling ourselves to anyone else is frightening because we see it as weakness and assume that if we show any weakness, we will be taken advance of. But actually, meekness and humilty are strength under control, not weakness. You ALWAYS win when God fights on your side.
Part of the restoration that God offers us is to have a health attitude, one that knows when to take a stand against things that are wrong and when to give in and do what someone else is asking us to do to.
